Week beginning Monday 11 February

It’s always a pleasure to welcome very young musicians to perform in our Lunchtime Concert Series, and next week we will have the pleasure of hearing sixteen year old prize-winning pianist Zacharias Brandman at 1pm on Wednesday 13 February.

Zach is currently a pupil at Westminster School in London, and is about to leave for Florence where he will be Musician in Residence at St Mark’s English Church.  He will be performing recitals, accompanying the choir, giving a performance lecture and premiering new works by the composer of the National Youth Orchestra.  We are very pleased he has been able to spare the time to come to Emmanuel and perform for us.  His programme will be as follows:

Beethoven, Piano Sonata no 23 in F minor, Op 57, “Appassionata”;
Liszt, Hungarian Rhapsody no 2
Scriabin, Piano Sonata no 2 in G-sharp minor, Op 19

We look forward to hearing this very talented young pianist and hope you will be able to join us!
