By | 31st May 2019

Something completely different this week! We welcome Jonas Stonkus, Lithuanian accordionist. to Emmanuel for his debut concert in our Lunchtime Series at 1pm on Wednesday 5 June.  He will be performing the following programme – which includes some pieces which will be familiar to you, but you will never have heard performed on an accordion before!

G. Rossini- Barber of Seville “Figaro aria”
V. Semionov- Sonata No. 1, 2nd movement
P. Makkonen- Flight beyond the time
A. Piazzolla- Oblivion
F. Mendelsohn- Spinning song
A. Bazzini- Goblins dance
S. Rachmaninoff- Vocalise
F. Angelis- Hommage a Paco
A. Vivaldi- Winter 1st movement

Jonas refers to the accordion as ‘that most versatile and yet often overlooked instrument’.  Come and hear more next Wednesday at 1pm!

We have now updated the Emmanuel Calendar with details of concerts through to the end of September, including repertoire where we have that information, so do have a look through to see what’s coming up.
